Founded by Mr. James Thomas, inspired by his journey from a disadvantaged youth to justice-involved as an adult. This program provides transformative support to youth, low-income families, and justice involved individuals through education, training, and encouragement.

Join Our Youth Homelessness Prevention Program (YHDP)
Our YHDP initiative is designed to support young people ages 18 to 24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We offer a safe space, essential resources, and personalized support to help youth secure stable housing, build life skills, and transition successfully into independence.

Meet Our Founder

James Thomas
Founder & Executive Director
Born out of adversity, The Road Called STRATE was founded by James Thomas in 1994 while he was incarcerated.
Emerging from this challenging environment,
James embodies the ethos of The Road Called STRATE as a product, disciple, mentor, bearer, catalyst, and missionary. His passion lies in serving as a beacon of hope for disenfranchised youth within our educational system, striving to rescue those who are often overlooked or neglected.
As both the founder and Executive Director,
James Thomas takes great pride in his role as a community leader, dedicated to assisting others and fostering growth.
